About Steve White
2014 Recipient of Chairman's Award for Mentoring Leadership from 100 Black Men of America
Author of Helping Black Children Reach Their Full Potential
My name is Steve White and I am committed to the positive development of the black family. I'm an educator, author, publisher and mentor. I have been a mentor for over thirty years. I have been an educational consultant and lecturer for more than 26 years and I wrote and published my first book more than a decade ago.

I know with certainty that the work I do is divinely ordained. I did not chose this work. I was born to do this work. And although there have been periods in my life when I tried to avoid the calling on my life and do what I thought was more practical and pleasing to others, my spirit would not allow me to rest. So I have embraced this work with all of my being. My love for black people is unwavering and my desire to see us transformed and redeemed is my motivation.

I have received many awards for the work I do. In 2014, I was honored to receive the Chairman's Award for Mentoring Leadership from 100 Black Men of America, a national organization whose work I highly respect. I was given the Key to the City from the city in which I was raised and presently reside. It's not often that one is honored by his hometown. I have an office wall full of awards, but nothing is more rewarding than serving and making a positive difference in someone's life.
About Kimberly White

Educator & Administrator
Kimberly White makes the work we do better. Her love for people is unwavering and of course, you can't do this work if you don't love the people you serve. I am honored to have her as part of the team. As a father, I could not be prouder of her, but I know the skill set that she brings to Hattie's Child. A graduate of Clark Atlanta University, Kimberly is an experienced administrator with experience in the corporate world of banking and the medical industry. But she is an educator, first and foremost. She loves interacting with people and she loves to help people see their worth and help them reach their full potential. Kimberly is an excellent role model for black girls and she is at the helm of Hattie's Child as we expand our work around the country and beyond. Kimberly is a contributor to our blog and podcast and she works directly with the people we serve as well as helping to design the content for our workshops, mentoring programs and consulting work.

We are about making a positive difference in the lives of the black family. We are committed to working directly with every member of the family, and every institution that impacts the lives of the black family. Our workshops, mentoring and personal development programs, summer camps, blog, podcast, and books are offered unconditionally. We have no ulterior motives. We simply want to be a part of the solution to the eminent crisis facing the black family.

We must unlock the inherent genius potential that is lying dormant in many members of the black family. The crisis is real and the consequences are great. We must do more than simply talk about the problems. We must be proactive in addressing the unique challenges facing the black family. We need a structured, well thought out approach to ending the crisis. It all begins with transformative educational services.

No one can do everything, but everyone can do something!
The root meaning of the word educate is educe which means to bring out or develop that which is latent or lying dormant.
